Best Practices:
Make sure all wire tips are rounded rather than sharp. Bend the wire ends, add a small epoxy ball, cover with shrink tubing, or wrap with sewing thread to help prevent the wire from damaging the cured silicone.
For puppet skins, a thin, even wall of approximately 1β2 mm helps reduce bulk while keeping movement smooth and flexible.
PlatSil Gel 10 can be modified with compatible silicone additives to increase working time, accelerate cure time, thicken the mix for brushing or layering, increase Shore hardness, thin the mix for easier pouring, or deaden the cured silicone for a softer, less springy feel.
The silicone can be pigmented to create different skin colors using silicone pigment or a tiny amount of acrylic paint.
